One of the first things the installer does is reboots the system,
which boots itself into 10.4 - so no dice there.

Well, I do not have an dual layer DVD drives handy - but I do have an
extra hard drive. Hopefully this laptop will boot from a USB or
Firewire connected hard drive! :)
