my chips have another contact that get's jumped to the eject button.
the eject button shuts off the modchip when this contact used.

simple. no unsoldering necessary.
as long as your HD is properly locked to your motherboard, it boot just like
any other xbox.
according to my sources on the scene, XBLive can't tell the difference.
like i said, i don't use XBL, so i can't verify this with first hand
experience.
