Ditto here. Do you really need NFS or NIS at all? If not just remove
them from the equation. She can't resist if there's nothing to resist.

We've had a lot of production Linux since 2000 (and a mail server for
years before that, installed and maintained by our then ISP). On the
distro front, RedHat 9.0 has recently torked our admins over to
Slackware. Other than that it's been smooth sailing on Linux & Perl,
saving us hundreds of thousands of dollars in software licensing.
