Excellent, I was wondering about doing that... and if the user freenet had
to have certain perms on the system.  Thats good though.  I was actually
going to start working with freenet as well (presentation at defcon got me
excited).  If anyone else is interested, I could grab that tape for one of
my Wednesday night infosec discussions.

Are you thinking about trying a stable package of freenet, or is that
possible running a more unstable release of debian?
