[olug] Jag Wireless?

My parents live just north of Plattsmouth (Buccaneer Bay) and they are
getting tired of the inconsistent and painfully slow DSL speeds their
current provider is providing.

The only viable option that I know of is Jag Wireless (
http://www.jagwireless.net/), but I'm kind of concerned when I look at
their web pages. The pricing page proudly proclaims "Summer 2014
Promotional Service Rates", the news page doesn't appear to have been
updated since August 2005, and some of the links are to servers that are
apparently off-line (http://bhrbek.jagwireless.net/tools).

Their coverage maps (http://www.jagwireless.net/html/coverage.html) don't
state what the colors mean, though if I assume based on the patterns, the
"center" of their south coverage map looks to be very close to my parents
house but I can't be certain. (Is red bad or good?)

So, my questions:
1: Is anyone on the list a current user of their services, or know someone
who currently is?
2: When I searched the OLUG.org mailing list archives, I do see them
mentioned a few times but only in the 2003-2004 timeframe. Anything newer?
3: Are there other WiFi/wireless based options we've overlooked?
(Satellite Internet isn't an really an option with their 10GB/month data
caps.)

Given the current poor DSL performance, I would hope that their Basic
package for $35/month (including the modem rental) would be a step up, and
considering how long they have been in business I could overlook the age of
the site on the assumption they are doing well enough to keep the business
afloat.

Thanks in advance!

Dan
