[olug] Fwd: [Announcements] CrossOver for free on Wednesday, October 31

I've gotten the email and used CodeWeavers Crossover on a couple of
different accounts. DIdn't use it a lot but it did make things work easier
than using WINE. Basically puts windows apps into "Bottles" -- WinXp
bottle, Sin 2000 bottle, etc. depending on how well the Windows version
worked best with whatever bottle...didn't use enough to justify paying for
support when free period ended....good company and highly recommend if you
can spare their minimal pricing...during the free period their tech support
was friendly and helpful.

There are "Some" ...very few.....M$ applications that I needed to have
running (website apps that require IE, Quicktime required video streams,
etc.) and CodeWeavers allowed for that.....Like I said...I didn't use often
enough to justify...but if you "have to" run Windows programs for one
reason or another...then it's well worth the investment.

My $.02

Joe
