[olug] [OT]: [Really OT]: windows 7

Gonna try BF3 running in VM on Linux... LOL. With that SSD & ram maxed out be interesting to see the FPS. PS can run in wine... I think but Gimp is my editor for obvious reason. Imho I would drop PS in favor of Gimp but I think really depends of what your running for any plugins etc. $$ spent on PS I could buy pretty hefty SSD :). Samsung 840 is out I believe but on paper OCZ looks better number wise. One thing I would need is the drive would have to have TRIM support or forget it. Think most newer SSD's support that now though.

I am using Samsung 830 SSDs. As far as OCZ I think the Vertex 3s are faster than the Vertex 4s

I would switch to using only Linux but applications like Photoshop, Ableton and Direct X games like BF3 won't well run on Linux.

If we have a world without Gates who needs Windows? My next desktop will be Linux (mint/opensuse/bsd or debian not sure) and Windows will be a vm. Planning on OCZ vertex 4 anyone have recommends for diff SSD?
