If you get on O'Reilly's mailing list they'll send out offers for half off
books at a pretty regular pace. Just finished last week were
CouchDB/CouchServer books and now they're promoting books about Spring at
50% off (which for eBooks ends up being in the $7-$8 range).

While it's not actually in the realm of Linux/software, the web site A List
Apart has their 2012 summer reading issue out:

The neat thing to me is that it's also available as a Readlist:
http://readlists.com/cc0d2783/ so that all the articles can be sucked down
as an EPUB for handy reading away from the computer... and the price is
right.
