I managed to get Google voice working fine on Ubuntu. For some reason
though, Google chat had to be configured to use the correct microphone on
each machine I installed the google voice plugin it on. In Mail settings >
Chat inside gmail.

Additionally, I had to have flash installed. I have gotten everything
working one machine with adobe flash and gtk-gnash on another machine. No
real configuration of flash was required.
