This year's Nebraska FLL Championship is happening on Saturday,
February 19, 2011, and will take place at the Strategic Air and Space
Museum in Ashland, NE. We'd love to have your assistance at the event!

The following AIM people are already volunteering as referees:

   - Adam Haeder
   - JD Pace
   - Adam Klier
   - Chad Picha
   - David Peterson
   - Erin Lasiter
   - Jessica Feimer
   - Chris Wilcox

This event will give almost 60 teams of youth, ages 9-14, the
opportunity to show off their science, technology, engineering and
math (STEM) skills in a fun, sports-like environment. Teams
participate in Robot Game, Robot Design, Project, and Teamwork
competitions.

About 150 volunteers are needed to make this event a success. There
is a volunteer role for anyone who would like to help out, from
setting up, to judging, to serving as a team escort. Some jobs need a
bit of technical expertise, where others are perfect for anyone
interested. High school youth (ages 14+) are welcome to volunteer
too!

Volunteers receive a FIRST LEGO League shirt, lunch, free admission to the
museum, and lots of appreciation and recognition.

To volunteer:

   - Visit the FLL Volunteer information page:
   http://4hset.unl.edu/4hdrupal/node/638
   - <http://4hset.unl.edu/4hdrupal/node/638>Review the list of volunteer
roles and select your top three choices.
   - Complete the volunteer registration form through the website.
   - Fill out and mail the Volunteer Screening and FLL Release forms ASAP.
Send both forms to the address indicated on the Volunteer Screening form.

The FLL Planning Committee will e-mail you to confirm your volunteer
position. The e-mail will also inform you of any pre-event training
needed and provide instructions on the day of the event.

If you're not able to volunteer, you're invited to attend the event
and cheer on the teams. The Museum will be open to the public on
February 19 from 8 am - 5 pm, and visitors must pay the Museum's
admission fee of $10 for adults and $5 for children (ages 4-12).

Questions?:
Contact Kathy Morgan, FLL Event Coordinator, at kmorgan3 at unl.edu or

Please forward this message to anyone you think might be interested in
volunteering.
