I trying to get my local public library to load it. All they have is MS
Works and office 2007 that is not activated. And they were told they
have to buy 14 licenses for all the computers in the library. So far the
library admin hates free software even hates when people load Firefox on
the computers but she spends 1,000s of dollars on machines that isn't
maintained no AntiVirus or they don't even do the updates. So when I
have to use there computers i have ubuntu on a Flash drive. But I have
used both MS office and then OO.org and starting to use it more even use
it on MS systems and of coarse my linux systems.

I would consider myself a basic - average user of office apps, not advanced so that is probably why I have not seen issues. Writer is about 95% compat with Word, Calc is about 85-90% compat with Excel, and Impress is about 70% compat. I usually have to twiddle a presentation going either way but everything else has "just worked".
