[olug] NIC problem

There is only one nic in the /etc/sysconfig/network and it is the one that is currently there. Can't find any info in the system referencing the old IP assigned to the original nic that was removed.

Any other locations where that info might be stored?

In SuSE it should be /etc/sysconfig/network/ifcfg-eth-id-00:00:00:00:00:00

The mac address of the nic is part of the filename.

Also, in the file itself, look for _nm_name='bus-pci-0000:00:00.0' for the
PCI bus address.

Wrong one removed, SO went to put the IP into the card that had NOT been configured...no go, says duplicate IP. Can't find where the system is maintaining the old card's info...looked in /etc/sysconfig/network without finding info on old card.
