They replaced Nessus with OpenVAS in OSSIM. It seemed to work well.

Subject: [olug] Nessus Replacement

Dear Lazyweb,

Now that Nessus went closed source, what does the group recommend for an
Open Source security scanner? I will be using it in a commercial
environment and can't justify Nessus' $1200.00/year plugin feed cost and do
not wish to violate the license by signing up for a personal subscription
and using it commercially anyway.

I see OpenVAS was forked from Nessus. Is it any good? Anything else
recommended?

Thanks,

Drew
