I just upgraded my desktop to Ubuntu 9.10 last night, due mainly to
frustrations with how digikam was behaving in 9.04.  Haven't had
a chance to test the eSATA drive on it yet.  I'll let you know if
anything has changed.

I do, on my laptop.  I prefer Ubuntu, I've found.
