luke, you make a good point (cruft), but flash is a necessary evil for some
of us.
html 5.0 will have a <video> tag, much like the <img> tag. maybe that will
encourage an open video standard. time will tell.
as far as hash and certificates, that's an excellent suggestion that i may
set some time aside for.

as far as destroying hard drives....
just put it in a rocket and shoot it at the sun.

alternatively, you could just drop it on the moon, then destroy the moon.
