Sounds like you're probably good to go with Vyatta, which is a great
setup.  I have no doubt that will work out great.

However, if you do happen to decide to install Ubuntu Server and run
with that, I have a hand written set of firewall rules that supports
LAN/DMZ/Wifi/Internet, along with DHCP configs for multiple separate
subnets.  I'd be happy to share them.
