Maybe you know this already bc you did say default.  Screen resolution for
many distributions is changed by cycling thru what is available by holding
down CTRL-ALT and tapping '+' or '-' on the keyboard / numeric keypad.

Google released a new version of gmail.  Over the weekend i had to use the
"Older Version" link at the top of the page in gmail to get it to work.
