Local consulting agency has a short term project with the following
requirements:

 

Project Summary

*	Client has built a Java web based application that is being
installed off-site in 2 different locations.   We are looking for a
contract resource to help this client build out the system, scripts, and
documentation to provide failover and load balancing for our
application. 

Project Requirements

*	The candidate must have completed similar projects with the
stated technology base (see below) (not including Mac OS X). 
*	The application has automated failover.    
*	The application leverages 2 nodes for load balancing.   Another
2 nodes manage media content files. 
*	Implement Health Monitoring (liveness, CPU usage, memory usage)
for the solution  
*	Implement Systematic backups 
*	Document Recovery Process in case of failure 

 

Skills/Knowledge Required

*	Java programming  
*	Familiar with queue implementation and caching across nodes 
*	Network protocol for load balancing and failover for a Java
application 
*	Scripting knowledge to provide failover and load balancing for
media files 

*	Familiar with Health Monitoring implementations 
*	Familiar with system backups 

 

Software/Hardware Setup

*	J2EE based server application 

	*	Glassfish container 
	*	Spring Framework 
	*	Web Portal 

		*	Google Web Toolkit implementation 

	*	Web Services 

*	MySQL database 
*	Mac OS X Servers - Intel 

	*	This shouldn't scare prospective candidates.  Mac OS X
is a derivation of Linux/Unix
