[olug] OT: follow up on component capture and a myth/pv350 question

I have a PVR 350 card. The PVR 150 has an MPEG-2 Decoder (what the tv
signal is encoded with). The PVR-350 has 1 MPEG-2 Decorder and 1 MPEG-2
Encoder. It's the PVR-500 that has 2 MPEG-2 Decoders. In the general sense
the Decoder is what everyone calls a "tuner." So, the PVR-150/350 have 1
tuner, and the PVR-500 has 2. If you want to watch tv AND record another
show, or if you want to record 2 shows at the same time... the PVR-500 is
what you want. My PVR-350 worked great in linux when I was using it a year
and a half ago (I stopped when I cancelled cable) - I imagine it still works
great.
