Powershell is awesome. It's basically the equivalent of a proper Unix shell
(and even accepts a lot of Unix syntax) but also lets you access
system-level stuff in windows. For instance, you can easily access WMI from
the shell, and traverse your registry like a filesystem. Some of the
security features regarding scripting is kind of a pain, so be prepared to
fiddle with it. A pity Microsoft decided not to ship it with Vista.
