Needing cash. Figured I'd try here before other opportunities at a higher
price heh.

Alphastation 500

For the good:
Working condition
400MHz proc
128 MB of RAM in 4 sticks (4 slots free, takes ECC 5v dimms i believe)
Two 9GB drives
Matrox video with daughter card (total 8MB mem ?)
Etherpower 2-NIC 10/100 card (yeilding 3 ethernet ports, 10baseT on board,
dual 10/100 card)
5 port (4 ext, 1 int) USB 2.0 card
Plextor 12Plex CD rom drive
Floppy drive
Debian Linux installed one one drive
FreeBSD (i believe) installed on other drive. Could be a different BSD, I
don't recall.

For the bad:
Missing front drive slide cover
Some writing on external case
Standard nicks and stuff in case for a system of this age
Smoking home, although it'll get a good blow down from an air compressor
BSD doesn't seem to like the USB card too much, had some issues mounting a
flash drive attached to it. Linux seemed happy though.

Price: $100 firm

If ya want the original 3d accelerator that came with the thing (tga2
based)... you can have it. It's got some bad ram on it so it does slight
video corruption (bad pixels). Plus, who wouldn't want a video card with a
rotary switch for video mode selection ?

I've also got an SC450NX quad xeon (pII stuff) motherboard... requires a
special case and all that. Should have some extras with it, although not
sure what. No memory riser, though. I sold the quad xeon system it was
originally for on OLUG a few years ago, so this is just spare parts
basically. If you're curious lemme know and I'll dig it out.
