ya if u buy the drives FreeNAS works well too, I have a DL360 with symbios scsi card and sun d1000 array dedicated to the lil BSD, it also allows one to define packet size larger than 1500. I havnt messed with packet sizes yet, I am not sure of the results, this may be a question for the list when I get to that task.
