I'm pretty sure you can write an apple script to automatically connect
these.  A friend of mind had a similar problem.  He had a linux server
and a Powerbook and was sick of the connect dialog so he wrote an apple
script to make it connect automatically at startup.  I'll contact you
off list with his email.  

FYI:  Command + K opens that connect dialog also
