- From what I read, they ("prism54.org") can't distribute the firmware file,
but we (the owner/purchaser) can extract the required .ARM file from
either the CDRom that came with the card, or from the latest drivers from
the manufacturers web site.

Seems like a short-sighted copyright by the Prism chipset developers, but
I don't see how this will stop us end-users from using it.

Did I miss something?

All I want is a wireless card that I can put into my Linux firewall/router
and make it act like a WAP...  Why can't manufacturers play nice?
