This is a system you have had other Linux distributions installed on before?

You are not running any RAID cards?

You are running fdisk or cfdisk to do the partitioning?

I'd like to know the same thing, as "root" I can not access that...that was
one of my first places I tried after hda-f wasnt working. I feel like I am
not really root. It doesnt let me do root things. but whoami? root.
