[olug] ASUS and Linux

I'm not quite seeing the issue. Asus is a big mobo manufacturer, but
they aren't a chip maker. They buy their chipsets and integrated
video, sound, net chips and so forth from other manufacturers. Ergo, Asus
doesn't do anything but bundle drivers together from the vendors they
buy chips from. So Asus' attitude towards Linux isn't a big deal.

While I do appreciate articles highlighting linux incompatibilities from
major manufacturers, the tone of the article seemed a little
unprofessional. I worry that articles like this do more to convince
manufacturers that they don't want to deal with the "Wild-Eyed Linux
Fanatics" than they do to convince them to support Linux.
