Personally, I would give them RedHat, Install is about the easiest I
have seen for a Newbie. Let them play around with it for a while then
once they are comfortable with it, then move on toone of the better
Disro's.

Subject: [olug] Newbie Linux Distro

Im going to help a linux newbie set up his first distro. But I am
unsure what
to give him. My personal best experiences lie in Gentoo and Debian.

Gentoo takes way too long and is a little advanced.
Debian is good, but stable is SO OLD, and relatively useless..... and
unstable
and testing are really buggy.

So What would everyone reccomend? and WHY?
