Thanks Scott will look at that more in detail. I went into system, security
and shut off the fire wall with no change and when I went back in it was
reset. Tried it both as user and root.
I am not sure what it is running as, as I cant find IPCHAINS on the system.
I am running RH8.

Make sure there isn't any firewall rules in the way. I had set mine up, and
it didn't work, but I also didn't have a chance to play with the firewall
for about a week. Once I fixed those rules and remembered to apply them, as
well as tweaking the samba configs and remembering to restart it, I did
finally get it working...

I have been reading a couple articles on Samba and have installed 3.0 but
can't seem to get the configuration to work.
Is there any other way of sharing files with a dos/windows box ? I am still
reading and looking.
