I have just reinstalled Mandrake 9.1.  I had a terrible time figuring out what 
was wrong with the internet connection.  Everything I saw was that I should 
be able to connect but I could not.  I had the security set on Standard.  I 
thought this was ok but it seems not.  
In Mandrake control panel I had to set the firewall to Everything-no firewall. 

I'm unprotected.  So can anyone tell me how to set the security to be secure 
and able to connect to the internet?  

I'm using Kmail,  Konqueror and Xchat.
