I inherited an old machine from work -- P-150 w/ 128MB, 2 3.5GB EIDE HD,
a EIDE CD-ROM, and a SCSI tape drive.

When I boot, it recognizes that the CD is there, but I can't mount a CD
with it. I burned CD 1 of the Debian install set, and successfully
mounted it on the machine I burned it from. But the old maching boot
that, so I booted with Tom's Boot Disk but couldn't mount the Debian CD.
I then swapped out another CD-ROM (one that I know works) and the same
thing. I then booted up with the Debian floppies, but it couldn't mount
the CD either.

Any ideas on what could be wrong?

The test is, sometimes there's no place to pull over - sometimes you
can't stop, and you have to find a way to keep going.
