[olug] Distros

In some ways, rpm being more popular at best doesn't really matter, at
worst could be incredibly bad depending on who maintains the package
tree. If the tree only contains official packages of that distro or
tree, then the fact that many other people make rpms available doesn't
make a difference to apt-get. If they allow just any old package into
the tree, it would probably break your system beyond compare with
circular or missing dependancies.

One of the reasons why I love debian, despite long waits for some things
(just now got kde3. But kde is pretty new to debian), is that it is
STABLE. Especially if you use the stable tree, it is going to work
better than most distros.
