[olug] Other distros

I have been playing with, teaching with, and using Linux in production use
at work for over 7 years also.
I am interested in what you find and what you end up using for sure.

I liked what I seen in Turbolinux the last time I looked at it.

I have read about the ASP distribution but never installed it.

I do not rank Caldera high on my list of distributions to use.
Redmond is based on Caldera.

I am not sure what Lindows is based on for sure.

Corel was licensed to Xandros and they are coming out with a new release.
I liked Corel 1.0, but it needs to run on a machine by itself in my
experience.
It is based on Debian but the install trashed my 2000 Pro and ME so that I
had to reinstall them both.

I would will have to look into the other distros you mention and see what
they have to offer.

Good luck and keep us filled in.

I have Mandrake 8.0 and Windows 98 dual boot for my children and that combo
works great.

I have been watching FreeDOS over the years and I believe that it is
included inside of some Linux distros.
This would help you in trimming down the number of partitions you need if it
is part of the distro you choose.
