[olug] Konqueror Web Browser?

Yes,
Konqueror is really the File Manager/Browser/File viewer included with
KDE. It's built on a component architecture called KParts and it uses the
Khtml Kpart to render web pages.

It can use Netscape Flash/Shockwave plugins and should be able to use the
recently unveiled Cross-Over plugin by Codeweavers, but I haven't tried
that yet myself.

As a browser it has it's share of problems, as any piece of complicted
code does, but I use it as my primary browser and it serves me fine for
99% of the stuff I do on the web. Also, with KDE 2.2 the anti-aliased
fonts are very attractive when browsing, although I still use
Galeon/Mozilla for some things.

If you use it I would just go with KDE 2.2 as well because it works best
(and starts up fastest) in conjunction with KDE. The only really annoying
thing I've noticed is that when it quits it likes to leav kio_http slaves
orphaned and they eat up my swap, but with 768 megs of RAM I don't even
bother to kill them. I probably will sometime.

I would recommend at least trying it out, it's worth it just for the aa.

There's ease of use and then there's ease of usefulness.
Choose usefulness. Choose Linux.
