It's an Athlon 1.2Ghz with an Asus A7M mainboard, pc133 ram.

I've talked to a friend of mine who developes for the kernel and he's
pretty certain it's a hardware issue with my mainboard. I googled this
particular error and both hpa and ac on the kernel dev list seem to say
that it is a hardware issue as well. My friend tells me that if this
board is a first revision Via chipset, and I believe that it is, then
its crap and all I can really do is get a newer board.

I'm just wondering if anyone else here has had this error before, and if
so does this diagnosis sound reasonable? I guess it wouldn't hurt to get
a newer board anyway since I would like to use DDR ram.
