It's funny this comes up now because I'm having a heck of a time getting all
the pieces assembled for a compile. Menuconfig, at least the one I have, is a
bash shell script off the source CD (redhat 7.2) unless there's another package
somewhere that has it as source. I got a "No rule to make Menuconfig" message
when I tried and, when I looked at the code, it said it was a script. I've
attempted to run it as a script but it won't find the lxdialog pgm. I probably
need to set the "PATH=" variable in my .bash_profile. I've also not been able to
find the documentation for compiling 2.4.7. I know it's there I just haven't
found it.
