Sorry I have not been following the list to close but if you just want to
set your display to another machine it is very easy.

csh:
setenv DISPLAY x.x.x.x
xterm blah blah

sh:
DISPLAY=x.x.x.x; export DISPLAY
xterm blah ...

On the box receiving the display you must allow it to connect with xhost +
x.x.x.x or just an xhost + to allow everyone to pop up xeyes on your box. I
nifty little trick we used to do.

The normal method is to telnet to the remote box, set the display back to
your box, set your box to xhost accept the server connection and then start
your X windows application. Cool huh? To bad MickeySoft windows never
really got the idea, or maybe we are better that they did not catch on. I
suppose they would claim they invented that also.

John

Ooh, I like that. In fact, I would just like to know how to export X
sessions to another machine.
