[OLUG] How do I get programs to run?

I dowloaded AIM for Linux, how do I get it to run once
I download it?  I put in the template directory.  When
I try to run it it gives me this error:

Could not list directory contents
file:/home/kenny/Desktop/Templates/tik-0.75tar.gz:/38%20tik/
