[olug] new computer

I'm ready to buy a new machine to replace this old slow one (266
Mhz,crappy sound and graphic cards,etc)but I think I'll have to have one
built because what I want just isn't available  off the shelf.Can
someone recommend a  few local  reputable linux friendly companies to
work with me on building one?Also I've read stories saying that a
motherboard for a 10 GB or over HDD is different than the motherboard
for  a HDD under 10 GB and the first motherboard isn't linux
compatible,as I want at least a 20 GB or over HDD this is a concern
unless this story is completely without merit (read BS :))
    This is just one of many questions I need to ask the company that
builds my computer,I'm sure they'll hate me by the time I'm done :)
