[olug] Spawning processes

John,
For httpd, smb, and some others every time someone uses that service (i.e.
connects to the machine using Samba) a new process is started.  This would
account for the multiple spawnings of httpd as well...

Actually by looking at the parent ID I see that the processes are spawning
themselves.  For instance httpd initiated by init has spawned 6 other httpd
processes.  I have also seen it with smb, inetd, and a couple others.
