According to the marketing hype, they intend to make it easy for people
to upgrade Red Hat 7.0 to the 2.4 kernel when it becomes available.

As far as Paul's comment regarding upgrading goes, the difficulty
usually isn't retrieving the latest kernel source and building a new
kernel. It's satisfying all of the dependencies of a major kernel
upgrade listed in the Changes file, such as installing new versions of
modutils, binutils, etc. The versions required by the new kernel may be
incompatible with the versions required by other pieces of software on
the system. One of the tricky parts about building a distribution is
making sure that all of the software on the system is compatible.
